0-2 weeks
Bonding, feeding rhythms, and calm sensory exposure
Tasks
- Practice skin-to-skin or quiet cuddle time daily
- Offer short tummy time on your chest for 1-2 minutes
- Watch for alert windows and pause before overstimulation
Red flags
- Poor feeding or weak suck
- No startle response to loud sounds
- Persistent lethargy or difficulty waking

Week 2
2-4 weeks
Early head control and tracking
Tasks
- Place a high-contrast card 8-12 inches from the face
- Do tummy time 2-3 short sessions per day
- Talk slowly and pause so baby can process sounds

- No brief head lift during tummy time
- No reaction to voice or loud sound
- Very stiff or very floppy body tone

Week 3
1-2 months
Social engagement and early motor movement

- Consistent back arching or extreme irritability

2-3 months
